The day Imam
Hussain (AS) stood
for truth.
On the 10th of Muharram, 61 AH, on the plains of Karbala, Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS) — the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) — gave his life, his family, and his companions rather than pledge allegiance to tyranny. He did not fight to win a battle. He fought so that justice would never be forgotten.
We wear black in his memory. We march in his name. We dress as Shia — because Karbala is not history. It is identity.
